The five generations that are in the workforce today provides organizations with an opportunity to leverage a myriad of strengths that each generation brings to the table. It’s important in the multi-generational workforce that leaders understand how to best lead each generation and for employees to understand how to be collaborative and how to work successfully in a team environment. Organizations must also have a good understanding of how to best serve their customers which is also most likely made up of multiple generations. Although the multi-generational workplace may take a little more time and effort to understand and leverage, it can provide organizations with a competitive business advantage.
